Three Women Start Singing “Delta Dawn” — But Wait Until The Fourth One Joins Them

The McClymonts sang their version of “Delta Dawn” at the 2015 Schools Spectacular. The three alumni students sounded amazing together with their beautiful harmonies and their impressive guitar playing skills. But, wait until a fourth member joins them onstage. They later joined by featured artist Courtney Clarke, much to the audience’s surprise.

Country music isn’t just appreciated in the U.S. as you can see. In Australia, there’s a talent show called Schools Spectacular, which allows students of New South Wales to show off their amazing musical talents. It shows various acts including dancers, singers, and musicians. As good as this trio’s performance was, they took it to another level when they introduced Courtney Clarke, who was the featured artist at that year’s School Spectacular.

Tanya Tucker is best known for her hit song “Delta Dawn.” While Tucker is the most well-known for singing the song, she wasn’t the first singer to record it. That credit belongs to the song’s co-writer Alex Harvey, who recorded his version on his 1971 self-titled album. Tucker released her version a year later, where it hit No. 6 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
